Anthony is Global CEO with responsibility for driving the global vision for BAMM. He started his career in advertising working across a range of sectors including automotive, FMCG, retail, and media. He co-founded BAMM in 2007, to provide clients with actionable insight, creatively expressed. Over the past 10 years he’s combined the latest thinking on behavioural economics, storytelling, brand and product innovation to provide his clients with competitive advantage. He’s developed long standing global relationships with brands including HSBC, Unilever, Shell and Nike. His passion is delivering multi market studies which provide a grounded insight into actual consumer behaviour to drive growth.

Matt is one of the founding partners at BAMM. He helps run the UK office, whilst supporting creative output from both New York and London.

Matt is one of the founding partners at BAMM. He helps run the UK office, whilst supporting creative output from both New York and London. He began his studies in Psychology, before working in ad strategy, working at M&C Saatchi, WCRS and W+K. In 2000 he left to pursue his passion in photojournalism. This is where the idea of Visual Thinking was born. In 2007 he co-founded BAMM with Anthony. His expertise lies in discovering deeper insight within visual culture. Over the last 15 years, he's helped clients ranging from Nike to Google to understand opportunities from within consumer culture.

Ed became Managing Director of BAMM in 2016, having spent 3 years leading the insight team. Prior to joining BAMM, Ed spent 6 years running a successful research and innovation consultancy, spearheading the development of online qualitative and co-creation methodologies. Alongside running the operational side of the business, Ed manages some of BAMM’s largest accounts, including Shell and Unilever, where he uses all his experience to deliver concise, impactful presentations that drive real change across the client’s organisation. Outside work, he can be found experimenting with new recipes for family and friends, or being slightly too competitive at school sports day.

Mark joined BAMM in 2019. He helps clients multi-layer data, research, and cultural insights to drive strong strategic planning. Before joining BAMM, Mark built out and led Mindshare's Business Planning & Insights teams in North America, where he established the agency's data science team and advised clients from Unilever, to American Express, to Facebook. Mark previously worked at The Henley Centre, within their econometrics unit. He has a passion for the social sciences and good storytelling.

Sonia is a bilingual insight strategist and visual ethnographer. A native Mandarin Chinese speaker with a doctorate in design ethnography, she has tackled complex design and innovation challenges for top global consultancies such as Seymourpowell, as well as for some of the world’s most renowned brands, including PepsiCo, Huawei, McDonald’s and Shell. Sonia’s mix of academic roots and her experiences of working in both Asia and Europe give her a unique edge for spotting culturally and visually impactful behaviours and trends. Since joining BAMM in 2016, Sonia has worked on everything from truckers, to beer, to new mums – inspiring future strategies for brands in China.

Gaurav is a Unilever Accredited research consultant who has been associated with Qualitative Research over the past 15 years. With an M.B.A in marketing, Gaurav has headed research and strategy teams in several agencies. His love for qualitative research stems from its ability to blend cross-disciplinary facets (linguistics, symbolism, sociology, psychology, culture, anthropology) with business and strategic elements. Outside work, he is a musician with a deep interest in harmony, a vinyl collector and loves scuba diving. He turned from being a full-time consultant in 2015 to balance his passion for qualitative research and music, and in turn, contribute with insightful strategy and nuanced subtlety.

Wenjun Chen is a photojournalist and artist based in Guangzhou, China. His works focus on the relationship between the individual situation and the social, cultural environment, and the communication between them. Most recently he has been working with BAMM to explore the lives of truck drivers, at home and on the road in China. His personal work has been exhibited globally and published in world-renowned publications such as LensCulture, VICE and IMA Magazine.

Peter is fascinated by why people do the things they do and what this means for brands. He’s been exploring these two questions in the research industry for the last 15 years – working in both quant and qual and across categories from sex toys to laundry detergents. He is driven by a passion for developing creative research methods that deliver novel insights in impactful ways, always underpinned by the latest psychological thinking. This innovative approach has seen him presenting at conferences in Europe and America, picking up a couple of awards along the way.

She developed a passion for storytelling and intercultural communication from her studies, in Italy and the UK, in Humanities, Literature and Translation. Together with English, she is fluent in Italian and Spanish and keeps on promising herself that she’ll learn a new language soon. She brings to BAMM her 4 years’ experience in TV production, where she has worked across a wide range of accounts, managing global advertising campaigns on everything from FMCG, beauty, finance & business services and social media. When she’s not in the office, you’ll find her on the volleyball court or around London in the hunt for the perfect espresso.

Having specialised in post-production, she quickly established her interest in the technical elements of that work. She studied Media and Communications at Birmingham City University. Before joining BAMM, Lucy spent 4 months travelling South-East Asia, Australia and New Zealand, which has fuelled her interest in travel and culture. Outside of work, Lucy loves to go to gigs, meet up with friends for drinks and discover great veggie restaurants.

Highlights have included Maserati drivers in Tokyo and snowboarding influencers in Paris. Outside of work, when she’s not travelling or finding new restaurants, Kim can be found in the dance studio rehearsing.

Emily is a Research Manager at BAMM. She first got a taste for research while studying at university. Curious to find out what life was like outside of the student bubble, she interviewed and photographed 52 ‘Faces’ around Bristol in an award-winning year-long Social Media campaign for her University. After graduating, she went out into the world to master the art of the visual; taking commercial photos for companies in the USA and New Zealand. She then returned to the UK for a stint in Advertising - helping Emirates and GSK refresh their branding through creative work. She joined the BAMM team in May 2017. Outside of work, you’ll find her playing some kind of organised sport.

With an education in both Fine Art and Philosophy, Peter’s aptitude for analysis and creating visually arresting work lends itself perfectly to BAMM’s Visual Thinking expertise. Having returned to the UK after a stretch working as a language teacher in Latin America, Peter spent a few years in the media industry conducting quantitative research for Haagen-Dazs and Jaguar Land Rover and developing social listening techniques. Looking to get even closer to the consumer, and with a few freelance photojournalistic pieces under his belt, Peter joined BAMM in late 2017 to continue indulging his enduring interest in people and culture.

As Creative Executive, Hartley takes a creative lead on our projects, always pushing new ideas and formats. Bringing a unique range of skills and expertise to BAMM, Hartley's previous experience has seen him freelancing in a variety of roles including shooting/directing, storyboarding and location sound. Hartley moonlights as an independent documentary maker, and his films have been screened at festivals internationally. To date, he has filmed in over 20 countries and counting.

Saurav grew up with a keen interest in the visual arts and different mediums of creative expression. Following his passion, he explored Fine art, screenwriting and film production and has had his short films screened at multiple international film festivals. He recently completed an MA in Documentary Film at the London College of Communication. In his own work, Saurav has a strong desire to explore concepts of childhood and identity. His final year project consisted of covering a story about an anti-trafficking organisation focused on helping children in Nepal. As a junior creative at BAMM, Saurav hopes to bring a fresh sense of curiosity and desire to understand and connect with different people and cultures. Outside of work, you’ll find him roaming the streets of London with his stills camera documenting everyday life.

Although originally from Greece, he spent 8 years living in Denmark, where his path eventually led him into commercial research. He worked for some of the leading hearing tech companies testing new product design and developing new research methodologies. Marios has now joined BAMM in hopes of achieving his dream of becoming the Jane Goodall of ethnographic research.
