Senior Research Executive – London

BAMM has an opportunity for a Senior Research Executive to join our growing London office.

BAMM is looking for a curious, smart and passionate qualitative researcher to join our small insights team. As a Research Executive/SRE at BAMM, you’ll be expected to support your project lead on various global projects, as well as taking the reins on some smaller, UK-based projects.

It might sound like a cliche, but no day is the same at BAMM. You could be working on anything from cracking 50+ audience needs for a travel brand, to understanding the meaning of ‘protection’ in an emerging market for a FMCG brand.

At your level, we’re not expecting you to have years and years of practical experience. What is more important to us is an interest -and a natural flair – for what we call the ‘big three’: culture, brands and people.

So if you’re looking for the chance to develop your insight chops and work with some of the world’s largest brands, then this might be the job for you.

Key responsibilities

  • Help the day-to-day running of qualitative research projects
    • Assist the project manager with recruitment and research set up (inc. online platform set-up in

      digital qual projects)

    • Develop discussion guides
    • Help conduct fieldwork (focus groups, ethnographies and online communities)
  • Analyse qualitative research outputs and help develop into compelling learnings
  • Write edit briefs for the creative team
  • Present sections of client debriefs
  • Contribute to TheDROP, our ongoing cultural trends program

Skills and experience you’ll need

  •  1-2 years of consumer insights or brand experience (e.g. working in a qualitative research company, ad/brand agency, or consumer insights consultancy)
  • Strong analysis and insight generation ability
  • Ability to pull themes, patterns and stories from qualitative research
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of range of qualitative methods
  • Interest in culture, and how culture impacts brands
  • Eager to learn and develop skill set, and contribute ideas for new methodologies

Skills and experience that’s a nice to have (but not essential)

  • Experience conducting ethnographic research
  • Presentation skills
  • Multiple languages
  • Experience with online research methods
  • Experience in producing, shooting, editing film or photography
